Language Arts Reflection by: Katia Wagner I have chosen my advertising essay. I had to think like an essayists. They need to think about their world and think about their opinions that they observe. Essayists need to stick to their main idea and write at least five paragraphs. They have to make sure that their introductory paragraph has a thesis statement that clearly tells the writers position. Essayists have to make sure that each paragraph sticks to the main idea. They have to make sure that they have at least three reasons or proof to support their idea, and topic sentences. Also, each reason in the paragraph needs at least three supporting sentences that relates to the topic in the paragraph. The paragraph has reasonable examples, details, and other evidence that supports the writer’s argument.
An essayist always uses the “successful paragraph method” in their writing. Their concluding paragraph restates the thesis without being boring. Finally, an essayist always edits their piece.
I chose this piece because I did a very good job on it. It didn’t have too many spelling errors; therefore, it was easier to fix all the grammar mistakes. I liked that essay the most and it wasn’t hard to write about and I also liked the review about advertising. The thing that I will fix about my writing is that I should edit twice before printing and handing it in. I would also change it to more details and make it more astounding. Hopefully, you still like the piece.
